E-MAIL
E-mail is the most economical and efficient method to keep in contact
with your friends and family while you are in Mexico. There are many cyber
cafes located throughout Guadalajara; the average rental fee at a cafe
is $2USD per hour. For your convenience, Vancouver Cyber Services is located
in our building and offers Internet, printing, scanning and word processing
services to the public. VLC students receive a discount on services when
they present their VLC student ID card.
FAXES
You may send or receive faxes from the school whenever you wish. All long
distance faxes require a phone card. You can purchase a phone card from
nearby stores and corner kiosks.

MAIL
Although the postal service in Mexico is slow, letters usually do arrive
eventually. However, you should not use the Mexican postal service for
important correspondence. Money or valuable items should never be sent
by mail. Courier companies, such as DHL and Federal Express are much more
reliable and usually guarantee delivery within 48 hours.
STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARDS
Student ID cards can be used to receive discounts on services in Guadalajara.
To receive a student card after you arrive, please submit two photos with
your name printed your name on the back to the reception desk.
DISCOUNTS
Remember to show your Vancouver Language Centre student identification
card when you pay for goods and services. Please ask at the school for
a list of participating restaurants, travel agencies, shops, etc.
